Golf Sits Eighth After Day One of the Williams Falls Invitational

Williams, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College golf team competed at the Willams Fall Invitational on Saturday and currently sits in eighth place out of 16 teams through day one. The Lyons were led by sophomore Stephanie Spitzer, who is in a tie for 10th place.

Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) finished the day with a score of 78 afrer shooting a 90 a year ago in the first round. The Lyons next top finisher was classmate Susan Lee (Irvine, Calif./University HS), who placed 34th with a score of 84.

Finishing in a 10-way tie for 45th is sophomore Elizabeth Andrian (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) with a score of 86. First year Caitlyn Richmond (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) sits in a four-way tie for 57th with a score of 88, while classmate Lahela Delaney (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt) rounded out the day for the Lyons with a 78thplace finish, shooting a score of 100.

Williams College was the top finisher, shooting a 306 as a team, while Jessica Jeong from Amherst College finished first overall with a round one score of 73.
