LIBERTY LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT

TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly awards and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Susan Lee was named the Rookie of the Week in women's golf. It marks the first collegiate weekly honor for the first year, who helped lead the Lyons to their best finish of the season last weekend.

Lee, who hails from Irvine, Calif., earned top honors after finishing sixth overall at the NYU Fall Invitational last weekend. In addition to finishing first on the team, she was first among all league rookies after posting a combined score of 161. In the opening round, she shot an 81. Lee rebounded on Sunday with an 80 to place sixth in a four-way tie. As a team, the Lyons posted third overall.

This is the top finish of the season for the former University High School standout as she competed in all five tournaments this fall. Among the highlights to her rookie season include 13th overall at the Mount Holyoke Invitational, where she notched a season-low 159 score, shooting 79 each day.

For the season, Lee has an average score of 84.80 through five tournaments. She also finished 36th at the season-opening Batchelder Invitational, 39th at the Williams Fall Invitational and 38th at Middlebury's George Phinney Golf Classic.

Mount Holyoke concluded its fall season on Sunday at NYU. The Lyons return to action in the spring, opening at the Vassar Invitational on April 8-9.
