Rowing Concludes 2014-15 at ECAC/NIRC Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – It was a solid day of action on the water as the Mount Holyoke College rowing team concluded its 2014-15 campaign at the ECAC National Invitational Collegiate Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond. The day was highlighted by an appearance in the Petite Finals for the Novice Eight boat.

The Novice Eight boat opened the day with a time of 8:29.684 to finish fifth in its opening heat. In the Petite Finals, the Lyons finished second overall with a mark of 8:28.783 – finishing second in the race to only Ithaca (8:14.162), while holding off Tufts (8:41.022).

For the Varsity Eight, MHC saw its crew post a time of 7:47.070 in its opening heat, which was sixth overall. In the Third Final, the Lyons were sixth overall with a time of 8:28.500. Overall, the Varsity Eight boat placed 18th.

The Lyons concluded their season having posted a number of solid finishes throughout the year. The squad was second overall at the 2014 Seven Sisters Championship, while also finishing 16th at the Head of the Charles. MHC was seventh at the NEWMAC Championships and also placed 16th at last weekend's New England Championships.
