WORCESTER, Mass. – The Mount Holyoke College rowing team competed in the New England Rowing Championships on Saturday at Lake Quinsigamond. The day saw the Novice Eight boat finish second in its Petite Final.

In its opening heat, the novice eight boat posted a time of 8:17.902, finishing fourth overall in its heat. The Lyons then placed second overall in the Petite Final with a time of 8:35.583. MHC finished second to Tufts in that final.

Mount Holyoke's varsity eight boat took home fourth in the Third Level final of its division. The Lyons posted a time of 7:39.577, which was good for 16th place overall. Prior to the final, they posted a sixth-place finish time of 7:34.207 in their preliminary heat.

The Lyons return to Lake Quinsigamond next weekend when they take part in the 2015 ECAC Championships. Action gets underway on Sunday.
