NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) recently announced its selections to the Senior All-Star Classic and Mount Holyoke College senior Angelica Pascual was among 22 participants chosen for this year's game. The game will be hosted by Western New England University on Saturday, March 23 at 1pm.
Pascual, a guard and captain out of Lawrence, Mass., concluded her Lyons career ranked third all-time in career points with 1,194. This season, she led the team in scoring for the fourth straight year, averaging 14.5 points per game. Pascual also averaged 5.2 rebounds per contest while chipping in a squad-best 52 assists and 29 steals with five blocks in 35.0 minutes per game.
The Proctor Academy (N.H.) graduate became just the 11th player in school history to reach the 1,000 career point mark, reaching the milestone early in the second half against Wellesley on January 8th. Pascual, who started all 23 games during the 2012-13 campaign, reached double-figures in points in 19 contests. Four of those contests saw her reach 20+ points.
Over her four year career, Pascual built up an impressive resume and graduates among the leaders in a number of school records. She is the all-time leader in three-point field goals attempted (526) and is second in program history in all-time three-point field goals made (150). Additionally, Pascual ranks fourth in three-point field goals made in a season (50) and also holds the marks for most points in a game (37).
A two-time captain, who also played field hockey at Mount Holyoke, Pascual averaged averaging 11.8 points per game with 3.9 rebounds per contest during her junior campaign. She also recorded 44 assists, 28 steals and one block. As a sophomore, Pascual earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team honors after leading the team in scoring on 13.5 points per contest with 5.3 rebounds per game.
Pascual averaged 10.2 points per game with 6.2 rebounds per contest as a first year. She recorded 40 assists, two blocks and 26 steals while being named to multiple All-Tournament Teams during the regular season.
