DUDLEY, Mass. -- Senior Sophia Guziewicz had her second straight two-goal game and sophomore Linnea Alsted tallied three assists to lead the Mount Holyoke College field hockey team to its fourth consecutive victory, in a 4-0 decision at Nichols College on Saturday evening.

Mount Holyoke made efficient use of its 10-7 advantage in shots attempted for the game, putting seven on goal and four of those into the goal. Three of the Lyons' scores were the result of a penalty corner, where Mount Holyoke had a modest 6-4 advantage over the Bison (2-4).

Guziewicz (Claremont, N.H.) struck first on a feed from Alsted (Crownsville, Md.) on a penalty corner in the final minute of the first quarter.

Senior Jayonna Montigny (Enfield, Conn.) connected on her second goal of the season and the 14th of her career with 11:46 remaining in the first half, and Guziewicz scored again, her 10th career goal, on a feed from Alsted on a penalty corner with 4:25 to go, giving the Lyons a 3-0 advantage at the half.

Mount Holyoke padded its lead to 4-0 five minutes into the second half, with sophomore Scout Climie (Guilford, Conn.) scoring her first goal of the season on an assist by sophomore Diane Lee (Boston, Mass.).

Senior Rachel Katzenberg (Reisterstown, Md.) and junior Ainsley Gruener (Topsfield, Mass.) combined on the shutout, with Katzenberg making two saves over the first three quarters and Gruener making a stop in the fourth quarter.

With four goals and five assists in just four games this season, Alsted currently leads the NEWMAC in points per game with 3.25, 0.85 more than second-place River Schiff of Wellesley. Alsted and Montigny share the conference lead in assists, with five apiece.

The Lyons' winning streak is their longest since they also took four in a row in 2019.

Mount Holyoke will play at Gordon College Tuesday at 7pm.
