Malboeuf hat trick powers 7-0 field hockey win at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior captain Mollee Malboeuf scored a career-high three goals and added an assist as the Mount Holyoke College field hockey team rolled to a 7-0 non-conference victory at Albertus Magnus College on Tuesday night.

The Lyons (3-5) have outscored opponents 20-0 in their three victories this season.

Malboeuf (Fitchburg, Mass.) scored the first three goals of the game, doubling her goal total for the season to six, and with her outburst she assumed the team lead in points with 15. Malboeuf has scored 11 goals over three seasons in her career.

Fellow senior Kylie Brooks (Oceanside, Calif.) scored two goals to also total six on the season, bringing her career total to 18 goals over three seasons.

Senior Laurissa Montigny (Enfield, Conn.) added a goal and an assist for the Lyons.

Sophomore defender Sophia Guziewicz (Enfield, N.H.) scored her third goal of the season and also recorded a defensive save. Sophomore Gracie Wilkinson (Amherst, Mass.) added an assist.

Sohpomore Rachel Katzenberg (Reisterstown, Md.) played goal for the first half and made one save to help the Lyons to their third team shutout of the season. Junior Leah Manning (Durham, N.H.) and Andie Hardin (Pittsburgh, Pa.) played goal for the third and fourth quarters, respectively, with Hardin making one save. 

Serena Montague made 13 saves in goal for the host Falcons (0-5), who were outshot by a 29-3 margin by the Lyons.

The Lyons next play at Clark University for a NEWMAC game Saturday at 12pm.
