WATERVILLE, Maine - Rookie Abby Baldwin scored just 1:36 into overtime to lift the Mount Holyoke College field hockey team to a 3-2 non-conference victory at Thomas College on Sunday. With the win, the Lyons move to 4-2 overall, while the Terriers are now 3-5 on the young season.

The Lyons, who forced overtime after scoring two goals in the second half to tie the contest, saw Baldwin power in the game-winner at 1:36 of the extra session with an unassisted tally - the first of her collegiate career.

It was Thomas that opened the scoring in the game as Lindsey Gregoire put one past MHC keeper Morgan Turner at 10:34. The Lyons were able to get the tally back, tying it at 1-all at 53:23 as senior captain Mirjam Keochakian converted a penalty stroke opportunity for the equalizer.

The Terriers grabbed the lead back at 55:55, this time on a score by Britney Gregoire, but a feed from senior captain Colby Newsham to classmate Liz Delorme at 63:47 resulted in the game moving to a 2-2 score to foce the overtime session.

Thomas owned a 14-13 edge in shots, including an 8-4 edge on goal. The Lyons owned the edge in penalty corners, 10-9. In goal, Turner made four stops for MHC in the win, while Terriers keeper Leah Kruse had one save.

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Thursday in a 7pm contest at Wesleyan University. The Terriers are back on the field on Wednesday, hosting Bates at 7pm.
