Colby Newsham returned to Mount Holyoke College as the Special Assistant to the Interim Director of Athletics during the Spring 2021 semester. Newsham, Class of 2019, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke with a Bachelor of Arts, before heading to Georgetown University, where the Harvard, Mass. native obtained a Master's in Sports Industry Management in August of 2020.

At Mount Holyoke College, Newsham will be assisting Interim Director of Athletics Erica Lemm in the day-to-day operations of the Department of Physical Education and Athletics. Newsham will also serve as the department representative on the College's Committee for Anti-Racism (CARA), representing and organizing our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

While at Georgetown, Newsham served as a Marketing Department Graduate Assistant in Athletics, and organized the Hoya Honor Students Program, as well as National Girls and Women in Sports Day for over 200 DC, Virginia and Maryland public schools. Newsham also worked home men's and women's basketball and football contests, managing game day marketing activities and creating social media graphics.

Newsham wrapped up an outstanding career with the field hockey program following the 2018 season, as she started in all 78 career games that she played in with the Lyons. Newsham was a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First-Team All-Conference and National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) First-Team All-Region selection, and helped lead Mount Holyoke College to a NEWMAC title in 2015. Newsham finished her career with 64 career points on 23 career goals and 18 career assists.
