The Mount Holyoke College community achieved an incredible milestone for the third annual Athletics Day of Giving, coming together in record-breaking support of Lyons student-athletes.
The campaign, held on October 8, 2025, raised more than $180,000 from over 840 donors. This exceeded the initial goal — and last year's total — by over $50,000.
"Mount Holyoke athletics has always been about more than competition — it's about leadership, teamwork and belonging," said Andrea Ricketts-Preston, director of athletics and chair of physical education. "To see our community rally in such a monumental way to support those values is deeply meaningful. Go Lyons!"
"The generosity of our extended Lyons team of alums, faculty, staff, current students, family and friends makes a tangible difference in the lives of our scholar-athletes," said Marcella Runell, vice president for student life and dean of students. "Their support strengthens every part of the Mount Holyoke experience, from the classroom to competition, and helps our students grow as leaders, teammates and members of this community."
Funds raised through the Athletics Day of Giving directly support the Lyons student-athletes' experiences, providing funding for things like upgraded training equipment, team trips and education and leadership events.
