Senior Haluwa Jefwa (Northampton, Mass.) is a Psychology and Sociology double major with a Nexus minor in Law, Public Policy and Human Rights. Jefwa is also a student-athlete on the Mount Holyoke College varsity hunter seat team, an Equestrian Center fellow, and will graduate at the completion of the Spring 2021 semester.

A four-year member of the riding program at Mount Holyoke College, Jefwa placed in the top-5 for all shows she participated in including first-place victories at the Mount Holyoke Show in 2017 and the Hampshire Show in 2019.

From Head Mount Holyoke Equestrian Coach, C.J. Law

"Haluwa Jefwa has been a strong and dependable member of the varsity Hunter Seat Team for seven semesters. She has an inner drive to push herself, to be strong, and to achieve success. During her time at Mount Holyoke, she has become a strong competitor within her division; unfortunately, due to COVID-19, she has not been able to qualify for the next division and pursue her own individual titles.  Haluwa excels academically and is a woman that will speak up for what she believes in. I feel these qualities will be a strength for her in law school. She has been a friendly and welcoming face for prospective equestrian students as an admissions fellow for the Equestrian Center. Haluwa has made many connections on Equestrian Team. It has been fun to watch her friendships grow during her time on campus and see the long-lasting friendships develop to what will be Friends for Life! We wish Haluwa the best for her future law school, and we will miss having her on the team."
