RIDING

Mount Holyoke is idle until May 3rd when it opens competition at the IHSA Nationals, hosted this year at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa. Action will run through Sunday, May 6th.

ROWING

The Lyons were back in the water on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, competing against Assumption and Coast Guard. Highlighting the day were victories by the Lyons Varsity 4 'A' and 'B' boats. Mount Holyoke now gears up for the NEWMAC Championships, which will take place in Worcester, back on Quinsigamond on Saturday. First races at the event, which is being hosted by WPI, will begin at 8:30am.

TRACK & FIELD

Mount Holyoke took seventh overall last week at the Springfield Invitational. Finishing strong on the day was sophomore Charleen Theroux (Coventry, R.I.) who qualified for the DIII Championships with a sixth place effort, while also posting second overall in the 400m dash - placing less than a second behind the first place finisher. MHC is back in action at Springfield on Saturday when it competes at the 2018 NEWMAC Championships. Competition at this year's meet gets underway at 11am.

LACROSSE

Mount Holyoke shouldered a pair of tough losses to Springfield and Coast Guard last week. Senior midfielder Kaitlin Braz (Tolland, Conn.) had a strong effort for the Lyons, posting three goals, 12 ground balls, nine draw controls and six caused turnovers on the week. MHC (3-11; 1-5 NEWMAC) heads into its final week of the regular season, beginning Wednesday with a 6pm contest at Smith. The Lyons close out the week at Babson for a 3:30pm match. Fans can follow all the action live (when available) at http://athletics.mtholyoke.edu/sports/wlax/2017-18/schedule.

TENNIS

The Lyons went 1-1 last week, besting Clark (8-1), before falling to #33 Wellesley (6-3).  Sophomore Catherine Peabody (San Francisco, Calif.) and first year Anya Gerasimova (Salem, Ore.) continued to shine for MHC, combining for back-to-back victories at second doubles against the Cougars and the Blue, while Peabody also went 2-0 with wins at second and third singles. MHC (7-10; 4-3 NEWMAC) will conclude the regular season on Tuesday in a 4:30pm match at Smith.
