SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced its mid-year honors and two Mount Holyoke student-athletes were named to the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team.

The award, which was established by the NEWMAC this academic year, is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

From basketball, first year Ireland Clare Kennedy (Oakland, Calif./Holy Names) was honored. Clare Kennedy provided positive energy all season as she played in each of the team's 24 games, including 10 as a starter. The Oakland native averages 2.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, while recording 18 steals on the season. Against Mount Ida (12/9), she notched her career-high in both points and steals with eight and three, respectively.

Recognized from Swimming & Diving is senior Claire Beckett (Haslett, Mich./Haslett). The Michigan native's best finishes came at the Seven Sisters Championship, where she was part of the 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley relay teams that placed fifth with times of 1:56.79 and 3:54.16, respectively. She also competed in the 400-yard individual medley, where she placed seventh in a time of 5:08.33. Beckett was a member of the NEWMAC Academic-All Conference team.
