FIELD HOCKEY

The Lyons concluded the season on Tuesday with a 2-3 overtime loss to Springfield College in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals. Senior captains Kaitlin Braz and Sophie Perekslis each buried a goal in the game. Sprinfield scored a goal in the final minutes of regulation to force extra play. Despite a strong defensive effort from the Lyons, the Pride notched the go-ahead goal to advance to the conference semi-finals.

CROSS COUNTRY

After a week with no competitions, the Lyons are back on the course, competing at the NCAA New England Regionals on Saturday. The event will take place at the University of Southern Maine starting at 12:00pm.

RIDING

Mount Holyoke had another outstanding performance last weekend at the Smith College show. The Lyons excelled, earning a first place finish in a field of eight teams. With two blue ribbon finishes from the day, senior Sara Hearn was named overall high point rider, while classmate Maddy Skrak was called back to the ring for a ride off for the reserve high point rider award, a title that she secured. Additionally, senior Taryn Isenburg was named reserve high point intermediate rider.

SWIMMING & DIVING

The Lyons opened up it's home-slate in dominating fashion with a 142-118 win over the University of New England on Saturday. Junior Bri Groves had a strong performance as she powered her way to four first-place finishes. As a team, the Lyons had a top-three finish in all 16 events. On the diving boards, sophomore Samantha Nemivant finished first off of the 1-meter and 3-meter boards with scores of 245.35 and 255.85, respectively. The Lyons are back in action next saturday as they host Westfield State at 1:00pm.

SQUASH

Mount Holyoke opened up the season strong with two solid win against Boston University and Vassar College. In the 9-0 win over BU, each player won 3-0, while also giving up no more than five points in a match. Later in the day, the Lyons took on Vassar, winning 3-0. First year Kuzie Madungwe had a gutsy performance as she came from behind to take a 3-2 victory from the eight position. The Lyons will play host to Smith College next Saturday at 10:00am.
