 RIDING

Mount Holyoke is idle until March 4, when it hosts a home show at the MHC Equestrian Center.

 

SWIMMING & DIVING

Mount Holyoke (2-8) returns to action on Thursday when it travels to WPI for the 2017 NEWMAC Championships. Action runs from the 16th through the 19th with preliminary rounds at 10am and finals beginning at 6pm each evening.

 

SQUASH

The Lyons had an outstanding week, rebounding from a tough loss to #18 Amherst to capture the 2017 Seven Sisters Championship title. MHC bested #33 Smith (9-0), #28 Wellesley (8-1) and #27 Vassar (8-1) behind undefeated 3-0 efforts from six different players. Named to the All-Tournament Team from Mount Holyoke were senior captains Allison Shilling (New Canaan, Conn.) and Amanda Lee (Windsor, Conn.), along with graduate student Rose Minichiello (Collinsville, Conn.).

Mount Holyoke (6-16) returns to the court on Friday when it travels to Connecticut College for a 7pm match against the Camels. The Lyons then travel to Princeton, N.J., on February 24-26 to compete at the 2017 CSA National Team Championships, hosted by Princeton University.

 

BASKETBALL

Mount Holyoke shouldered losses to Norwich and MIT last week. Senior captain Xajaah Williams-Flores (The Bronx, N.Y.) posted 29 rebounds, including a game-best 19 boards in the non-conference match against the Cadets. The Lyons (2-20; 0-14 NEWMAC) close out their regular season schedule at home this week, beginning Wednesday as MHC welcomes Smith for a 7pm contest. Mount Holyoke wraps-up the week on Saturday at 1pm, hosting Coast Guard Academy. Wednesday's match will be the Lyons 'You Can Play' game, while Saturday will see MHC honor their two graduating seniors.

TRACK & FIELD

The Lyons returned to competition last weekend, competing at MIT's Gordon Kelly Invitational. sophomore Donari Yahzid (Atlanta, Ga.) continued to impress, finishing third overall in the long jump with her third Division III New England's qualifying mark. Qualified members of the Lyons' squad return to MIT on Friday as action at the Division III New England Championships gets underway.
