 RIDING

The Lyons returned to Virginia last weekend, taking part in the fourth and final leg of the Tournament of Champions series. MHC finished 11th overall at the Winter II Classic, aided by a blue ribbon finish in open over fences by senior Bridget Finnerty (Baltimore, Md.). Mount Holyoke is now idle until March 4, when it hosts a home show at the MHC Equestrian Center.

SWIMMING & DIVING

Mount Holyoke returned to the pool on Saturday, squaring-off against Simmons College. Senior Katie Tyler (Hadley, Mass.) paced the effort with an individual and relay win on the afternoon. Mount Holyoke (2-7) takes part in its final regular season meet of 2016-17 on Saturday, hosting Smith College at 1pm. The meet will also mark the final home contest for the Lyons four graduating seniors.

SQUASH

The Lyons were back on the court last weekend, traveling to Pennsylvania for a pair of matches. MHC bested Haverford by a 9-0 margin, but fell in the second match by a 9-0 score to Dickinson. Four of the Lyons nine matches went to a 3-2 margin, while two others were a 3-1 score. Mount Holyoke (3-14) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts William Smith College for a 10am match.

BASKETBALL

Mount Holyoke shouldered losses to Springfield and Wheaton last week in NEWMAC action. First year guard Kathryn Violette (Yokosuka City, Japan) paced the way for MHC in the battle of the Lyons, scoring a game-high 17 points. The Lyons (2-16; 0-11 NEWMAC) are back on the court on Wednesday, traveling to WPI for a 7pm contest. MHC wraps-up the week at home on Saturday, hosting Emerson at 1pm.

Fans who are unable to make it to games can follow the Lyons via live stat/video at http://athletics.mtholyoke.edu/sports/wbkb/2016-17/schedule.

TRACK & FIELD

The Lyons returned to action on Saturday, competing at the Massasoit Classic, hosted by Springfield College. MHC was led by a number of strong efforts, including first year Charleen Theroux (Coventry, R.I.), who was second in the long jump with a New England DIII Meet qualifying mark and also placed fourth in the 200-m dash. Mount Holyoke is back on the track on Saturday when it travels to Wesleyan University. The meet begins at 10am.
