Madeline Rieders (Wellesley, Mass.) and Hannah Rieders (Wellesley, Mass.) of the cross country team have been selected as the Mount Holyoke College Athletics "Lyons of the Week" after their standout efforts at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship meet on Saturday at Bowdoin.

Racing among the top competition in New England, Madeline Rieders and Hannah Rieders both earned All-Region honors with finishes inside the Top 35. The Rieders were the first student-athletes from the Mount Holyoke College cross country team to earn All-Region accolades since Christine Klepacki did so following the 2005 season. It was also the first time in program history that multiple student-athletes have earned All-Region honors for the Lyons. Madeline Rieders finished 17th overall with a time of 22:00.3, as Hannah Rieders followed with a time of 22:01.8. Their performances helped the Lyons record a seventh-place finish at the regional championship meet, the highest for the team in program history.
