Julia Bell Tabbed for Lyon of the Week Honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Junior attacker Julia Bell has been named the Lyon of the Week for the period ending March 22. Her team leading scoring efforts helped the Lyons lacrosse team to a 1-1 week during their spring trip to Florida, which also included a major career milestone.

The Longmeadow, Mass., native recorded a team-best eight goals with two assists for 10 points. She also added a ground ball with six draw controls. In a 15-6 loss to then-#3 Bowdoin, Bell notched a team-best three goals with an assist. She marked a major milestone on her third goal of the game, recording her 200th career point in just 38 games.

Bell then added to her total in a 16-5 victory against Concordia, pouring in a game-best five goals, including four in the opening half, with an assist.

Through six games, Bell is second on the team in scoring with 27 points. She has a squad-high 22 goals with five assists and has notched a team-best 44 shots, including 34 on goal. Bell has gone 3-of-10 on the free position with eight ground balls, 16 draw controls and three caused turnovers.

One of the most dynamic players in program history, Bell is just the fourth Lyon to reach the 200 career point milestone. In 39 games played, she has recorded 151 goals with 55 assists for 206 points. Her goals total is fourth all-time and she is currently fifth in assists and third in career points.
